AI Face Swap places one person's face onto another photo automatically. Upload a clear source face and the target image you want it swapped into, and our AI — built on the open-source FaceFusion pipeline running on GPUs — detects, aligns, blends and enhances the face for a natural result, usually in a few seconds.
It's free, runs online with no app to install, and adds no watermark. Face swapping here is strictly consent-based: only swap faces of people who have agreed to it. Want to swap a face onto a clip instead? Use Video Face Swap.
How AI face swapping works
Modern face swapping is a four-stage pipeline. First the model detects every face and maps its landmarks. Then it aligns the source face to the target's pose and angle. A trained swapper network transfers the identity — the distinctive features that make a face recognisable — onto the target while keeping the original lighting and expression. Finally a face enhancer (GFPGAN) sharpens skin and detail so the result doesn't look pasted. All of this runs on a GPU, which is why a swap that would take a desktop minutes finishes here in seconds.
Tips for a realistic swap
Quality in, quality out. Use a source face that is well-lit, front-facing and unobstructed — no sunglasses, heavy shadows or extreme angles. The closer the source and target match in head angle and lighting, the more seamless the blend. High-resolution inputs give the enhancer more detail to work with. If a result looks slightly off, try a cleaner source photo before anything else.
Use it responsibly
Face swapping is a creative and fun tool — for memes, fan edits, costume previews, and seeing yourself in a new scene. It can also be misused. Only swap faces of people who have given consent, never use it to deceive, harass, or impersonate, and don't create explicit or defamatory content. Many jurisdictions now regulate non-consensual synthetic media. Keep it consensual and keep it fun.
